mixed ability hatha yoga

Taught by Lorna, this class is a great way to learn the fundamentals of Hatha yoga if you're just starting out or develop them as you become more experienced.

The style focusses on holding the postures for longer than the flow styles of yoga, with an emphasis on alignment and more time for breathwork.

We cover standing poses, backbends and everything in between so that you get a well-rounded experience. Great for people looking to loosen up and calm their mind.

yoga for back care

Our Back Care class is about overall health and wellbeing because ultimately the spine is fundamental to the way we move, breathe and live.

But there are lots of reasons why spinal health can be compromised and our classes combine strengthening and lengthening techniques that address the issues behind back complaints such as aging, compression, imbalance in our musculoskeletal structure, and stress to help improve the health of your back.

This class is taught by Lorna and is for anyone who wants to maintain or improve the health of their back. It won't cure specific injuries, but it will help you manage generalised back pain and those little niggles that you may notice. The level is aimed at pretty much anybody regardless of age or experience.

barre

High intensity. Low impact.

This class blends Yoga, Pilates, cardio and strength training for a dynamic practice choreographed to music. It incorporates small pulsating movements, often using a variety of equipment including free weights, pilates rings and balls and exercise bands.

It’s an effective way to build strength and fitness while looking after your joints! Come and join Stacey and give it a try!

pilates

Debbie and Lizzy both teach Pilates here, which is a practice designed to develop core strength while providing an all-round workout. It's benefits include increased core strength, muscle tone and mobility which can help with from posture to back pain.

These classes are mat-based and are designed for both beginners and more experienced practitioners. Like yoga classes, students are encouraged to work within their own capabilities while enjoying opportunities to challenge and grow.

pregnancy yoga

Join Stacey Dobbin, a qualified Pregnancy Yoga teacher and former midwife with 17 years of experience, for these classes which have been designed to help you feel more comfortable, connected, and calm during your pregnancy.

These ongoing classes, sold in four-week blocks, are suitable for those who are 14+ weeks pregnant and will guide you through:

- Gentle poses to build strength and ease common pregnancy discomforts, like back pain and nausea.

- Breathing and relaxation techniques to help you manage stress, find calm, and prepare for labour.

- A sense of connection and community in a welcoming space with other mums-to-be.

No prior Yoga experience is necessary. This is your time to relax, recharge, and prepare for the journey ahead.

what to expect from Lorna’s classes

Classes are normally 1:00 hr. This generally gives us enough time to start with a short breathing exercise before warming up and moving into the asana (postures) we’ll focus on. We’ll always finish with final relaxation.

We provide whatever equipment we need – mats, blocks and belts (We like props here'; they’re a great way to help our bodies align better). You just need to arrive a few minutes early, wearing loose clothing that’s easy to move in. We practice bare foot so please leave your shoes in the racks at the door.

And finally, yoga is adaptable so don’t be put off if you have any niggles or injuries, these can be managed. Just get in touch.
