The Goat House Retreat

Reflect & Renew: Test Event

Test Event: What Does This Mean?

This is a test event for the newly established Goat House Retreat in Seaforde, Co Down.

Over the past year, Lorna and Heather have immersed themselves in restoring an old stone barn and building new overnight accommodation on their four-acre smallholding, with the aim of hosting a variety of wellbeing retreats.

With most key elements now in place, they are planning a series of test events to ensure everything runs smoothly and to address any potential issues. This retreat is one such event and is priced accordingly.

As a participant, you’ll be asked to observe and provide feedback throughout your stay to help us understand your perspectives and expectations, allowing us to make necessary adjustments and improvements.

By attending the retreat, you also consent to the use of selected images taken during the event for marketing purposes.

The Retreat: Reflect & Renew

At different stages in our lives, we need time and space to reflect and reassess our circumstances, identify what we need to stop doing, what to do more of and what to adjust in our lives to enhance our wellbeing. This retreat provides the perfect environment and coaching tools to do just that.

This two-day, one-night retreat offers a respite from daily chores and responsibilities, giving you the time and space to contemplate the first steps toward the changes you want to make.

Set in the newly built Goat House Retreat amidst the beautiful countryside of South Down, Kay Aldred - Life Coach and Somatic Educator - will guide you through three transformative sessions. These sessions will help you evaluate your current situation, cut any unnecessary cords, set meaningful intentions, and discover some practical tools to move them forward.

What to Expect

Each session will build on the one before, offering a mix of movement, practical coaching, energy work, guided visualization, intention setting, Yoga, and ceremonial practices. We’re here to create a warm and welcoming space where you’ll feel comfortable sharing and asking questions.

VENUE AND ACCOMMODATION

Nestled on a charming four-acre smallholding, our retreat space offers stylish accommodation for eight guests. We have three twin ensuite rooms for shared occupancy and two doubles for single occupancy with a shared bathroom in the Shepherds Hut.

Relax and unwind in the Stone Barn's lounge and dining area, perfect for curling up with a book, playing a board game, or simply enjoying some quiet time.

Our large, purpose-built yoga and wellbeing studio is fully equipped with everything from blocks and belts to bolsters and blankets, making it an ideal space for various movement-based activities, meditative practices, and coaching circles.

All of this surrounds a sunny, grassy courtyard where you can soak up the sun or enjoy a game of giant Jenga. There's as much or as little to do as you like.

Want to spend some time in nature? Hang out with our friendly free-ranging hens or cuddle our goats—they're like big, lovable dogs! And if the night is clear, gather around the fire with a cup of tea and marvel at the stunning night sky.
